Overview of Key Ingredients in LA Naturals Candida Rescue (info source Feminine Health Reviews)
What ingredients are in LA Naturals Candida Rescue?
Black Walnut – Black Walnut contains natural tannins that kill parasites, yeast and fungus. Similarly, it is well known in the horticultural world as a danger to other plants. It also contains a chemical named Juglone, which has some antibiotic and antifungal effects.
Berberine Sulfate – Berberine exhibits a broad spectrum of antibiotic activity. Berberine has shown antimicrobial activity against bacteria, protozoa, and fungi, Berberine’s action against Candida pathogens is actually stronger than that of antibiotics commonly used for these pathogens.
Pau D’Arco – Pau D’Arco acts as a powerful antifungal agent. It contains several classes of compounds, lapachol, xyloidone and various napthaquinones. The most important of these is lapachol, which has been shown to inhibit the growth of Candida.
Garlic Extract – According to another article by Huntington College of Health Sciences, “Research has clearly shown that garlic has anti-candidal activity, inhibiting both the growth and function of Candida Albicans”.
Grapefruit seed extract – In a 1990 study, grapefruit seed extract was found to perform as well or better than 30 antibiotics and 18 fungicides.
Ginger – Traditional uses for ginger include motion sickness, nausea during pregnancy, chronic inflammation and a low immune system. However, in recent years researchers have begun to investigate the use of ginger extract as an antifungal.
